That place was built by thousands of workers from India, Pakistan, and the Far East. Those men sent the vast majority of the wages they earned (many times more than they could have earned in their home countries) home to their families. True, they didn't earn much but their earning were counted in the tens of dollars a day, not tens of cents. Today it's staffed by ex-pates doing the same thing.
