The Watchhouse designed by Rianne Makkink and Jurgen Bey has been made of straw, an agricultural by-product, that is stored in crates. The crates form the walls of the house.
The Watchhouse is one out of thirteen projects set up for the Vijverberg VI exhibition in Tytsjerk
Art historian and curator Ankie Boomstra selected the participating artists and asked them to create new work, fitting the theme. She also selected a few existing pieces for Vijversburg VI.
National and international artists and designers present their works, inspired by the theme Time is short and definite, derived from the sundial in the park.
